Comparison of combined application treatment with one-visit varnish treatments in an orthodontic population

Objective: To evaluate the effect of chlorhexidine-thymol varnish alone, its combination with chlorhexidine-fluo - ride containing dentifrice and fluoride varnish on oral hygiene and caries prevention in orthodontic patients. Gingival bleeding reduction using a carbamide peroxide based tooth paste with lactoperoxidase

Introduction: The combination of carbamide peroxide, thiocyanate or enzymes such as amynoglucosidase or gluco-oxidase is able to reduce gingival inflammation. Objective: To evaluate antiseptic efficacy, in relation to reduced gingival bleeding, of a new dentifrice containing carbamide peroxide and lactorperoxidase. Fluoride-induced precipitates on enamel surface and subsurface areas visualised by electron microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy

The present study examined the enamel surface after in vitro topical treatments with a neutral 2% NaF solution. For minimising the risk of artefacts, samples were inspected without pre-treatment as fresh, naturally wet specimens by complementary techniques: variable pressure electron microscopy (VP-SEM) and confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). VP-SEM provided information on the surface morphology, whereas CLSM allowed non-destructive visualisation of subsurface areas. The effects of three remineralizing agents on regression of white spot lesions in children: A two-week, single-blind, randomized clinical trial.
